This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Port Hueneme is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Port Hueneme follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. Very chill. Ask for recommendations, but we tried a bunch of the appetizers. Pork belly bar, fried gyosa, spicy edamame, and teriyaki bao. I had the Ragin Special, my buddies had Chicken Pad Thai... So excited that I forgot to take pics of the entrees! We all loved our food!!! I can continue to come here over and over. Sooo good! Thank you.

Since this place opened, my husband and I have talked about trying it out. We would check the reviews occasionally which were often bad. It had been a while and when we checked today, the reviews were pretty good. Maybe I should stop trusting those... Our server was not friendly, nor helpful. The appetizers were delicious, and the person who brought them out was delightful. This had us hopeful for our entrees would be amazing, but I'm writing this with a horrible stomach ache and severe nausea hoping my husband stops puking long enough for me to tag into the restroom. The lamb I had was gross. Just plain gross. The flame went out for our bowls before we were able to cook all of the meat, so we were left with cold bowls of soup with raw meat in them. It took several attempts at trying to flag someone down and being ignored before my husband finally had to get up to get someone to re-light them, though by this time we were pretty over the experience. The wagyu we were served was RANCID. It was inedible and had clearly gone very VERY bad, and I'm guessing is one of the main reasons we both started feeling sick before we even got a foot out the door. The Ramen noodles I got were

Good broth flavor. Had the Ragin, Lamb and military. Customer service is excellent. Price is average for these type of food. Give them a try.

Mark at Navy Federal CU recommended this place. I ordered the pork belly bao and a beer for a quick snack. It was tasty and fresh. The pork belly was cooked to perfection! The flavor was just right! The restaurant was fairly full. The staff was attentive. I would comeback and try the hotpot! Parking was easy at 1pm.

Have you tried hot pot before? If so, this is a great place to settle any cravings. If not, still a great place to try it for the first time. I gave it a 4 star because I’m very used to control the temperature and add more ingredients as I eat. I’m aware I’m comparing it to other experiences and restaurants I have had. So, I’ll keep it simple, the ingredients, broth and the menu overall was amazing. The menu has variety but I only went to try their hot pot which didn’t disappoint until the shrimp. I’m very picky with shrimp and I would not order it again, it had a non shrimp particular taste and disolved oddly. No idea what was that caused it but don’t want to find out. I will be going back to try different hot pots specially their broths. I ordered the Veggie broth and their Ragin special hot pot. You can see it in the menu I have attached in the pics. The fire is limited as it’ll blow out by itself after 10-15 min and the food and broth will start to cool down. I had an extra plate to pull my food out while the rest kept cooking and it was helpful. But I still wanted to control the heat. I hope this was helpful and that your experiences surpasses mine.
